i love hosting overnight guests and we're nearing that time of year with newport summer coming up - these are my tips & tricks for prepping & stocking your home for your guests!

welcome station - snacks & drinks

when guests walk in i love to have a snack and a beverage out and ready to go, it just creates a really welcoming environment and avoids any feeling of having a hungry guest and having to make something in the kitchen vs enjoying your time together

the setup formula:

  • appetizer plates

  • candles

  • floral arrangement

  • cocktail napkins with a cute design or phrase

  • ice bucket with wine, sparkling water or champagne OR pitcher with a batched cocktail (negroni, lambrusco spritz, martini, margarita etc)

  • glasses for alcoholic beverage and water glasses

  • hand held or picking snack: mini sandwiches, chips & dip, popcorn, parmesan cheese and honey

welcome station - bedroom & bathroom necessities

i love keeping a few things in the bedroom and bathroom to make guests feel like they are at their home away from home. For general bedroom decor I’ll always keep fresh flowers by the bedside, an extra phone charger, a luggage rack and a clear space in the closet with empty hangers. In the bathroom things like nice body washes, shampoo & conditioner, contact solution & extra cases, lotion, mini first aid kit and a travel sewing kit.
